Pulley stuck on Water Pump
Next project I'm working on is replacing the water pump. I usually don't replace these things myself but looking at how easy it looks with all the space in the engine on these 4 cylinders I thought I'd do it myself. I have a 2003 Tracker btw.
The problem I've encountered is removing the pulley on the water pump. I removed the 4 bolts on the pulley but I can't seem to remove the pulley. I've tried tapping on it with hammer a few times and it just wont budge. Does it require a lot of force when you're banging on the pulley? |
In2Pro, Would you happen to have the instructions on pdf format for removing the waterpump? Thanks for the pdfs on sparkplug installation btw. its much appreciated

internet says tap ??
can you get a 2 or 3 jaw puller on it? not sure if that would be worse. not sure if this is the same engine model: http://www.justanswer.com/chevy/6hmz...ater-pump.html http://www.justanswer.com/chevy/4ntt...nge-water.html |
Thanks Sledge, That link on procedure is awesome. Jaw puller is a great idea as well.
I haven't really worked on cars too much. I've only done breaks and fluid changes. So all this info is really helpful. thanks |
