Tracker harsh shift when cold
 

When our 2002 Tracker w/2. engine w/auto is cold, it has a very harsh shift into gear (fwd and Rv). The engine fast idle is 1400 rpm, is this too fast ?? If so how do I adjust the fast idle for warm up. OR is there a transmission adjustment of some kind needed?
