2006 Trailblazer-

I have a 2006 Chev. Trailblazer that is having major issues.. You can be driving down the road and it goes dead on you. It will crank back up but will do it again. It is now parked in driveway... We have tried the ignition switch, didnt work.. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the issue may be and how we can fix it..

Please give any suggestions you can..

Thanks

another problem we are having is that the the security light flashes and then it dies..if it doesnt die, then the tachometer goes to zero when the engine is still running...then it will die.then it will start right back up.

I dont know much about working on cars/ trucks but mine did that the other day completely shut off while driving ... drifted into a apt complex and turned it off and it started Updike nothing even happened... come to find out its my alternator... turn your car all the way on and then while it's running disconnect the positive ground to the battery if it ends up dying then it's your alternator but that's about all the advice that I know cuz I just recently found this information out myself

DO NOT DISCONNECT THE BATTERY WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOING SO CAN KILL A GOOD ALTERNATOR OR KILL THE ECM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These vehicles are nothing like the mid-1970's and earlier vehicles where one could get away with disconnecting a battery cable while the engine is running.

To the Original Poster, what brand of ignition switch did you install?
