Dash Electrical Problem

I have a 2004 Trail Blazer, bought at end of 2003. It currently has a little over 50,000 miles on it and is a EXT LT.

Starting two days ago, the electrical on the dash has not been turning on when I start the car. The AC/outside temp area does not light up (but the air is on), the radio does not light up (but can be controlled by guessing), the mileage/mpg/etc area, and the gear you are in area does all not turn on.

Yesterday when I went home it was turned on when I got in, but had not been when I came to work. Then today again on the way to work, it was not turned on.

Rather than go the dealership and pay $1000 I am sure, I thought I would try here.

Are you sure the dimmer switch isn't turned down?
