TB starting issues
I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer Ext [5.3L V8] that has failed to start a few times in the past few weeks. The first time was after I had driven it five miles and parked for about ten minutes --- when I returned to leave the store, it wouldn't start. The engine turned but wouldn't start until I gave it some gas via the accelerator.
The second time the vehicle wouldn't start was very similar to the first [driven five miles and parked for about ten minutes] except it was more difficult to start than the first. We successfully started the vehicle over 20 times --- and drove the vehicle over 200 miles between the first and second time the Trailblazer wouldn't start. I might mention that we pulled a small camper and didn't realize any loss of power, etc. The Trailblazer has just over 100,000 miles on it. Yesterday, I took the Trailblazer to a local garage for diagnostics --- they indicated they couldn't find anything wrong with the Trailblazer. My first inclination is that the fuel pump is failing. However, I don't want to replace that just to find out it isn't the problem. Has anyone out there experienced anything similar with their Trailblazer and resolved the problem? Thanks so much. |
