Warning Lights Stay On

I just bought a 2008 Trailblazer LT 4x4. Turn the key to on and all the warning lights come on like most vehicles, but once the engine starts the lights do not go out. They just stay on. The oil PSI and Temp gauges both work. Not sure about the gas gauge.

This vehicle has obviously been driven by a young guy at one time or another because I have removed about 150 miles of speaker, amp, and other wires, so whoever may have cut a wire to something somewhere I haven't found yet causing a false signal. It also appears that this vehicle has been flooded at some point, so maybe something is shorted out sending false signals. I'm not sure.

Any ideas as to why the warning lights stay on?

Whatever the issue was seems to have corrected itself. I had disconnected the battery to do a couple minor electrical repairs and hooked the battery back up and turn on the key and at least half the lights that were staying on turned off after a few seconds of the engine being started like they should. The three or four traction control warning lights went out after I changed the front hubs. The 4x4 warning is staying on, but the plug is disconnected up front on the actuator because I haven't bought the new plug yet. The low tire psi warning is also staying on and the check engine light is staying on.
