Only 1 key fob will work at a time

Hello

2010 chevy traverse

I have 2 fobs. Only 1 will work at a time. If I program the fob that was not working then the other fob that was working is now dead.
And programming the dead fob will now render the other fob useless. Any suggestions Thank You
