2005 Uplander - lost acceleration...

2005 Uplander. Went to accelerate and it lost accelertation and then the pedal went to the floor. Coasted to the side of the road. Help?

You need to provide more info. Did the check engine light come on? Mileage? Going uphill/downhill? Could be many things, need to narrow it down.

Lost acceleration

Sorry.... Straight flat road. No check engine light or anything came on. No error messages on the dash at all. Wouldn’t restart. 200,000 miles. Maintenanced regularly. May try to clean the throttle body and see. When it lost acceleration, pressed the gas and the pedal just went to the floor. THANK YOU!

Do you have fuel? Is the fuel pump running?

Suz132 December 10th, 2018 7:26 AM

Full tank of gas. Just filled up.

When you say it won't start, do you mean the engine cranks but won't start or it doesn't crank at all? To check the fuel pump, stand outside the vehicle by the fuel tank. Have someone else turn the key to start. You should be able to hear the fuel pump briefly. If not, that could be place to start.

I’ll try that. Thank you. I was also told to check to see if this model had a throttle body cable. Anyone know right off hand, by chance?

No cable, drive by wire controlled by computer.
