Drivers side window fell off track 05 Uplander
Hi all,
Window fell of the track in the 05 Uplander. Pulled the panel and see that the plasitc clips are broken where it attaches to the glass. What the best way to fix this? Do I need a whole new regulator? The dealer said I do and they are quoting $700 to fix. I see complete used regulators with motors and all on ebay for less than 100. Is this the best way to go? How hard are they to replace? Any help is appreciated, I really do not have $700 to spend to make the window go up and down. |
Does anyone have an answer regarding the clips on the window. I had the same exact problem and I am being quoted $795.00 for a new regulator. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this more economically?:(

Hi Lorrieann6, I should have updated this thread with the fix I performed. GM told me I needed to buy the complete regulator but they are wrong. You can order just the lower sash (from GM!) that has the clips on it. Its part #22 in this picture: Chevrolet 2005 Uplander 4 X 2 FRONT BODY STRUCTURE-MOLDINGS & TRIM 2005-2006 UX1 DOOR HARDWARE/SIDE FRONT PART 2 Car parts for your Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Hummer, Light Truck, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and more! Also I reused the clips that snap the window (#17s) but may be a good idea to pick up a couple (mine were a bit loose but worked out ok) This is MUCH MUCH cheaper than buying a whole new regulator and the part is easy to swap once the regulator is out. I hope this helps. -Bill |
Anybody have any tips on what to watch for as a perventive method? or does this just randomly happen?
