Glove box door
 

I just bought a 2006 Chevy Uplander and was wondering what the small compartment thing on the glove box door would be used for?

I've seen it used to hold pink card [insurance] and registration.

The really cheap hinge broke for no apparent reason on my 2006 uplander yesterday. The hinge is not available , you must replace the whole door. (still a light plastic assembly). Quoted by dealer $302.00

Why not make your own hindge? Get a metal hinge and screw it where the old one was. $10 sounds a lot better than $300

I was thinking more like a small piano hinge.
