No Sound from DVD player

I have a 2006 Uplander. Purchased about three weeks ago. First day I put a DVD in and could get no sound. About ten minutes into the drive the sound came on for the rest of the thirty minute ride. After that I have not been able to get sound out of the DVD player again. No sound from speakers or headphones.

Do you mean DVD or CD? You talk about sound and nothing about video, so I think you mean CD. If it is CD, do you get any sound when you use the radio part of it?

Sorry. I do mean DVD player. The video is fine. Just no sound.
Audio for the radio works fine.

I'm asssuming you are pushing the 'CD/Aux' button at the bottom of the radio up front to engage the DVD audio to come through the speakers ?

Just because a DVD is actually playing and you can see the video image from the DVD on the screen overhead the audio won't come through till you push that button on the radio

Let's get that out of the way first .....

EDIT : I just love it when someone revives an 8 year old post and they want help
but never bother checking in again .....ehehe
