Car Won't Start This Morning...
I was upset to get all bundled up just to have my car not start this morning before attempting to drive to an appt. and had to reschedule it. I had the very same thing happen on a much warmer day in the Fall of 2017 and ended up needing a new battery. The place I had it done at went out of business, since the owner retired. What should I do? I am not able to find my receipt and he gave me nothing paperwork-wise for a warranty. I have no idea where he bought the battery either.
Is it possible that the cold weather is stopping the battery from working? It is bitter cold out this morning. About 9 degrees with a real feel of -5 degrees or so. Could it maybe start up tomorrow or a warmer day? Funny thing is that we just used it last night to run errands and got home at 10pm or so. Could it just be the cold air? I hope someone can help with advice. Thanks in advance. I am attaching a photo I took of my dash when trying to start my car. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/chevrol...e47b4b1370.jpg It is definitely a battery issue. Can anyone tell me what the check engine light is on for and the symbols on the top left in red in the middle of that area? |
when the key is turned to run, engine off the warning lights will do a bulb check. They should go out on start up
-get the codes read and you will know why the check engine light is on -all the symbols are detailed in the owners manual. |
The battery should have a date stamped on it which can be used for warranty. Did you buy a 3 or 5 year battery? What label does the battery have? You can go to an authorized dealer for that brand of battery. If it is a cheap off brand battery, you may be out of luck.
