Default Auxiliary fuel gauge

The fuel gauge for my 2000 Chevy Silverado went out! Rather than pulling the bed and putting in a new sending unit, I was wondering if anyone had experience with just putting in an auxiliary fuel gauge. Stumped on ideas and unsure if it's even possible.. Any advice help and thanks in advance

Are you sure it's not that the Dashboard electronics rather than the fuel pump?
Are any of the other gages wonky? My 2003 had a bad dashboard electronics package and swapping that out fixed the problems.

yep, the gauges were bad and so were the tank sending units.

as far as an auxiliary fuel sender; it would have to be in the fuel tank so you back to accessing the tank. Some folks like to drop the tank, others like to remove the box to access the tank.
they make just the fuel level sender but the age of the fuel pump....it would be a good idea to replace the complete assembly.
