Default laid-back

I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, I traveled from Alexandria Virginia to Henderson North Carolina pulling an empty trainer and my truck only got 13.5 miles to the gallon. I picked up a motorcycle and drove back to Virginia and only got 11.6 miles to the gallon is this normal

I have a 2016 Silverado LT, 2wd, 5.3 with a 6 sp trans. I'm not impressed with the mileage either, definitely not what Chevrolet advertised. I have a 6x12 enclosed trailer (loaded with construction tools, not sure the weight) that I pull on the highway and I average 10 mpg.

The heavier the load you are carrying either in the bed or a trailer, it will lower the gas mileage.

It's understood that the heavier the load the less the mileage. Even when I am empty, not towing a trailer and driving conservatively the mileage is not that great. Conservative city driving I average 13.5 mpg

I have a 2013 with the 4.8 and 6 speed transmission and I don't do much better. Around 13 in the city and maybe around 15 or 16 on the highway without towing anything.

either you're driving faster than you realize, or something else is held up. I have a 14 with the 6.2/6 speed combo and on 33s and 20x10s I avg 15-16 city and 18-19 hwy
