Default High Mount Brake Light Water Leak

I own a 2012 colorado crew cab that just came off warranty in September. In the last month I have noted a wet back seat and rug at the back seat driver side door. I thought it was at the door and so I have ordered a new door weather strip. However after researching on line, others noted an issue with the high mount cab brake light so I decided to take a look. And of course the light seal was completely degraded with a gaping hole between the lens and cab. So I now need to order a new brake light as well. No fun to have a truck just off warranty with a water issue. Anyone else have this issue?

You could use silicon seal and not have to buy a new light.
