Default 4.3 is eating fuel pumps

Hi all. I'm having an issue with my 2002 express van. I just replaced the original pump last month. 12volts to the pigtail, but no fuel.
Ordered an airtex pump, installed, ran fine for about 4 days, then no start. Again 12volts at the plug.
Ordered a Delphi pump, replaced, and again ran fine for about a week. I'm having the same issue again.
So, I don't think the pumps are an issue. What could be killing them? I replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the tank.
Each pump had about an hour worth of drive time on it.
Thanks for your help.

are you replacing just the pump or the entire pump assembly ie pump module, sending unit, housing and pick up sock?

Yep, replaced the whole assembly both times.

Same tank of gas. I would say it's around 1/4 full. Again, it may only have 1 hour of run time on this van over the course of 2 weeks and two pumps. It is a future service van that is sitting in the back yard without a tag. I just move it around the yard to work on or move parts.

Thanks for the comments.

When mine went on my 2002 I had a bosch one put in.....so far so good and that was years ago.....
When the pump fails, can you get it to work by banging on the gas tank to jar it?
Could a bad relay not allow enough current and essentially starve the pump motor? That could create internal heat.

No luck smacking the tank.

E85 Ethanol fuel tends to be extremely hard on fuel pumps and other components. I was told by someone that older GM fuel pumps are especially vulnerable.

I just pulled the pump out and checked the relay. Found that the switch side of the relay is not completely open. Reading around 280m ohms across the switch. On my way to swap the pump and get a new relay. Wish me luck!
Thanks for the help

It seems like I have anther bad pump. I just tried to crank it again, but couldn't hear the pump prime and it wouldn't start for me.
Any other ideas?
