Default Exterior Driver Side Door Handle Replacement

Hey everyone. We have a 2007 Chevy Express 2500 Base Model Van. Outside Driver Door handle is busted. We have the replacement, but we cant get the exterior handle off the two bar/lines/wires that control opening the door from outside. Does anyone have the schematics or something that would help me understand how to undo this? or can some one make a quick how to video? Im going nuts going through the passenger side lol. Thanks

you need to remove the inside panel and work from there too. IIRC, there is a wiring harness that needs to be removed, two rods that need to be unhooked, and then a metal plate that needs to be unbolted from the inside. I think the bolts for the plate you need to remove a couple of those little black plugs that are right there.

the bars that need to be removed, have a plastic retainer that kinda unsnaps and then allows the bars to be pulled out. It is a sucky job, no doubt about it.

What kind of service manual are you using, looks pretty good.

it is a website called indentifix that you can subscribe to. it has service bulletins, repair manuals, etc.

I have a buddy that owns a repair shop and he lets me use his service.
