Performance Chips, do they work?
I have a 2002 Express van with a 5.0 engine (88,000 miles). Do chips help with gas mileage.
I was reading an ad for a chip Mfg. by GForce. They claim an increase of 4 to 7 MPG. Has anyone had a experience with this chip or any others for that matter? Or are they a waste of money??
Thanks, bluegold

No way you will get 4-7. 1-2 possibly, but you are much better off getting a custom tune by someone like Blackbear Performance.
Ok, after checking out GForce, it is a scam, plain and simple. You can try the hand held programmers, but they are very generic, but generally will give a slight increase in mileage/performance. Still recommend a real tune like Blackbear.

Not sure if you are asking me, or bluegold, but it is one of the best things you could do. I just picked up my '06 and as soon as I can, I am getting a tune. Have done a few others trucks and it is great.

I sent an e-mail to Blackbear enquiring about a tune for the 6.0 in my 04. They claimed a 1-3mpg increase with their tune, +30hp and +40ft-lb. I wouldn't expect much more from a tune, but it can be worth it.
