Default 1989 Chevy Celebrity

Hi, I have a 89 celebrity with 168.000 miles on it. It has been well taken care of but I know things still go wrong. Here is my problem. After I drive the car about 30 min and everything is warm, when I go to press the brake pedel and start slowing the down bout half way thru slowing the car down the car wants to stall and sometimes does. Does anyone konw what could cause this or anything I could check. Thanks. Brian

When is the last time you had a tune up? It could be a clogged air or fuel filter. Does your check engine light come on at all?

Well just had a tune up done to it. Did not make a difference. Still stalls when ever it feels like it. I will tell you one thing that when it starts to down **** under bracking from 4th to 3th gear fine but when into 2sec and 1st is when it stalls.

Also when my torq converter is unpluged the car runs great and shifts smooth. When pluged back in it feels like i'm pulling extra weight. Thanks for all the help.

Have your lock up solonoid and lock up switch changed. They are located in the transmission.
