buying 1990 3500 diesel or not
Hi there. I am new to this forum so excuse if I don't know forum ethics. I am thinking of buying a 1990 3500 crew cab diesel with 44,000 original miles to haul my horses around on the weekend. I am trail rider. The truck is in need of some repairs due to old age and dry rot. Does anyone know anything about these trucks? It is a Chyanne (excuse the spelling) with a 6.3 diesel motor. I had a mechanic check it out and the engine and tranny are in good working order. Needs an alternator, belts, hoses, a couple of tires, and some oil pan and tranny gasket, and ect. Nothing major just a mess of minor stuff. Do you think it will be up to the job? How well do these trucks haul? What kind of fuel economy should I expect. I happened to find this truck being offered locally, and don't know much about chevys, being that I owned a ford in the past. [:'(] [:'(] Is it possible to do any of the work myself, or better yet get my hubby off the sofa and under the truck? I know that with my ford they had to lift the motor up every time it needed any kind of work. []
