Odb2 code P0302
Have a 98 chevy that throws code P0302, misfire code for cyl 2. Have cleared the code and it comes back. Swapped plugs from #2&4, code returns. Swapped wires, code returns. Changed cap and rotor, code returns. Have used a timing light to try and see if number 2 was missing. Actually notices the light follow normal blinking then it will give a few really quick blinks, sort of a flutter. Tried the same on number 1 cyl, it follows normal blink.
So I guess the question is, what's anyone had this before? Any ideas?

Yes it is spider style injection. So that could cause the spark to flutter? Also forgot to mention it seems to idle a bit rough, even a little rough until about 2700 rpm, at 3000 it seems to run perfect.

i don't know how reliable checking spark is using a timing light. if you think you have a spark problem use a proper spark tester.
I thought you pretty much ruled out the ignition as you have changed every ignition part. The next logical test in the progression is a fuel delivery problem for the effected cylinder. maybe one poppet valve on the spider is clogged.
Is the dtc still generated at 3000rpm?

I teased the spark with a spark tester it seems pretty constant and consistent. I was hoping to stay away from the injection system but if I have to I will, get into it. On a side note, and I'm not sure it would effect the engine and this issue but the exhaust doughnut is leaking on the opposite side of the engine. Inknownis highly unlikely but could this have anything to do with my issue?
