I know you probably don't want to hear this but I think this is something that you should let your dealership handle. Depending on your mileage you should still have your 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty which may cover you for this type of repair. hay jeff thanks for the input, but i bought this vehicle used. it has about 64,000 miles on it and i'm not sure if the factory waranty is still valid on a used vehicle.

The 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain is fully transferable from owner to owner. Did you purchase the vehicle from a private party or a used vehicle dealership or did you get it from a GM dealership under the Certified Used Vehicle program?
