Default Can a factory backup camera be installed?

I bought a 2014 Chevy Impala 2LT back in July. I did not get the option for a backup camera. Hindsight being 20/20, I would like to have one installed. I emailed the chevy dealer I bought the car from, and they told me that my car can't have a factory installed backup camera, but referred me to an aftermarket place in town. I have the chevy MyLink screen in the car that does just about everything. I don't want to have two separate screens (one for MyLink and one for the backup camera). Am I getting the right information from the dealer? It would seem to me that they should be able to upgrade and reprogram the computer, but I am not sure. I appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thanks in advance
