Hi LME, My daughters car timing belt broke today its a 2004 aveo, how much is a replacement engine? I had it towed to the house and havent had a mechanic look at yet. The tow truck driver told her it was the timing belt. I owned two of these cars thinking they would be great starter cars for my girls while going off to school, bad idea, and yes its happened to both now. The first went before 60000 miles and dealers repaired it under warranty and the car had problems every since. Finally got rid of it. So the second car I had the timing belt somewhere around 50000 + before we had any problems with it and today this belt brakes at 92679 miles. What a P/S these cars are.
