Issues with Throttle sensor
I received a recall letter a few months ago and NOW my car is stopping on the highway (VERY DANGEROUS) and a message comes across the dash board reading "disabling throttle service. Engine speed reduced" PLEASE HELP!

Thank you for your prompt response! I have a 2009 Chevy impala LS. I have not taken it in as it is my only means of transportation and I didn't know how long they would need to keep it. I also misplaced the letter I received. Basically... When I'm driving my car will suddenly lose speed (I get the message across the dash indicating this as well) and then it will completely STOP in the middle of driving with a message that says Disabling service throttle and my check engine light comes on.

It may be your only transportation source, but it isn't doing you any good with the issue it has. Call the dealership, ask them about the recall, you really need to act on this. The vin will tell the dealer that it hasn't been in for the recall service.

If your car has been recalled, take it a Chevrolet dealership, they don't need a letter, the can look it up using the vin. If the repair is likely to take very long, they may provide you with a loaner vehicle.
