How to replace blend(temperture door actuator?
I have a 2004 Monte Carlo. The air control is set to heat but only passangers side blows hot air. My question is, "Where is the blend door actuator, and how to replace it?" And only becuase I called several repair shops and some say the dash has to be removed and others say it does not, does the dash have to be removed to repair?
Thanks

Removal Procedure
- Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) insulator.
- Remove the knee bolster bracket bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the left air temperature actuator.
- Remove the mounting screws from the left air temperature actuator.
- Remove the left air temperature actuator.
Calibration Procedure
Use the following steps to perform the calibration update:
- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Remove the battery positive voltage circuit fuse of the HVAC Control Module.Important: The module memory will not clear if the battery positive voltage circuit fuse is installed in less than 60 seconds.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Install the fuse.
- Wait 60 seconds before moving the HVAC controls.

Just wondering did the above fix your problem with the 04. I am having a similar problem.
2004 Monte Carlo LS with dual climate control. The drivers side is not blowing out heat ( only cold air) regardless of where the climate control is at. The passenger side works fine and has heat etc.
Both sides switched up to high heat.
When switched up to defrost they seem to mix together because it is just warm. When switched to floor boards drivers side cold and passenger hot, when switched to vents drivers side cold and passenger hot.
So where do I start looking to trouble shoot.

Thanks for the step by step post with the pic. My left air temperature actuator ended up just being stuck and started working once I got to it and messed with the hot/cold and air temperature actuator at the same time. Must have gotten into a bind.

Air conditioner
I have a 99 monte carlo I'm having problems but it's not with the heater. My ac randomly quit blowing cold, I hooked it up to a snap on ac machine and everything is fine. Now I heard it could be the blend door keeping it from working properly. And my question is.. Where and how do I find the door and how do I check tho make sure that's the problem. Thanks in advance, I have an 18 month old daughter and can't have her in the heat.
