Default s 10

new to the list. am working on my sons S10. '97 L4 engine. does it matter on the placement of the coil packs? I have 1-4 on the bottom and 2-3 on the top. I took off both packs and forgot to mark them. I did mark the wires though that was not enough. Any help so I can get him on the road today is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I took a guess and tried 1-4 on the bottom, 2-3 on top. But would cylinders 1 & 4 still fire? I started out with absolutly no spark on 2 & 3. Changed out the coil pack. Then very weak spark, put new plug wires and got good spark but still only 1 & 4 fire. I'll reverse the packs after work today.Good thing that I can do this in the dark now. Again, thanks for your help.
