Default My 99 Build

I guess I will Show Off a history of My 99 Build;
*
But first this is a very helpful set of videos
Lots of How To videos for Blazer issues :
*
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...EE818BC3F7F742
*
I Bought it in June 2016, very clean well kept, just needed some TLC and new parts to freshen it up. Like most car guys, I started with giving "it" a name: SANDBLAZER
Seemed fitting living in the sands of Las Vegas.

***************************************
Then the one most important thing -
- The sound system:
Old stock had to go, so I put in a new Kenwood receiver Alpine speakers in all the doors, Pyle Chopper Series amp and a Pyle Full range dual 8" box in rear cargo area.

****************
Next I wanted a Bull Bar and a LED light bar up front, with LED Rocker switch panel running the LED light,.. my under dash LED lighting and my Amp Cut out. I also wanted a Dual USB charging station with a Volt meter. I could not find exactly what I was looking for so I built it.

For the rocker panel housing I wanted to be able to pull all 4 switches at once without having a hard time trying to get to screws or it slipping of screw slots. I used a plastic box with a lid, trimmed it to fit the 4 switch housing and painted it black.;

*************************************
I ran the LED Light Bar wire harness in a 1/2" good thick wire loom from battery through the antenna hole located to the lower right rear side of the a/c-heater black box mounted on firewall and the rear of engine -(*wrap with heat shield the exhaust is very close*) and into the cab using a bright light and long screw driver as a guide and fish. This comes out just above passenger side front floor pan behind the carpet. I then fished wire and all needed connections using a tap off switched accessory line and on a grounded bolt. I installed self tap screws through my rocker housing custom box to my mounting location.

More to come..................

Default Continued...

Next it was time to start on the.. not so fun stuff... It was summer time and I figured I would get the
general services done before it got to hot out, and the Blazer could have fresh new fluids.
******************************
Oil and Filter .. AC Service charge .. Differential Flush .. Fuel Injector service .. Radiator Flush service
Trans flush service

AND

Then came time to start the restoration phase to bring the Blazer back to as new condition as I could get it.

For those with difficulty breathing... crank up the Oxygen tank, ..this is where it gets –.. EXPENSIVE.

**************************
CV Axle - Left Front .. Idler Arm .. Pittman arm .. Inner Tie rods .. Outer Tie rods .. Rear Pinion seal
Sway Bar Links .. Transmission Pan Gasket .. Front Shocks .. Torsion bar Mount Bushings ..
Driver and Passenger side - Upper and Lower Control arms with Bushings and Ball Joints pre-installed

**************
So I got all the above done a week before Christmas, and off to vacation with my newly installed suspension
And then…….You guessed it, Engine time…….

So Christmas Eve the engine decides it wants to be a thorn, and wanted attention, it threw a fit the last 60 miles to my Christmas vacation spot, but it made it. …

3 days later I had it towed back to Las Vegas and went on the engine hunt. Well after turning up no good finds in the yards,
I found a donor 2001 Blazer online.

The guy just put in a low mileage replacement engine and when getting brake service, found out he had a ton of issues with the front end and couldn’t afford all the repairs, so I bought the 2001 Blazer for 600.00, yanked the engine and trans, (Selling trans now).... then scrapped the body.

I had my mechanic go through and replace everything to freshen the motor up listed below.

Was Just Informed by a fellow Chevy member from another forum that my sway bar links were not installed correctly;

I looked at pictures from 98 to 2001 and all had same with a spacer and correct bushing placement, mine did not.
