Cobalt This sporty compact was faced with the difficult job of replacing the popular Cavalier, but whether the base model, or the supercharged SS is chosen, is has made for a great replacement.

Default intake/exhaust

I drive a 2009 Cobalt SS and im trying to find a better intake. Right now theres a lifetime K&N air filter in there.
i was looking at the Secret Weapon R Cold air intake.
Does anyone have that?
if so how it go?
ive heard from other not to go with the weapon r because its cheap and undependable..
so what other good intakes are there???

Im also tying to find a better exhaust Kit.. ive been looking around and im looking at either Magnaflow catback or Megan racing. any suggestions?

Is there anything better then K&N???? Probably not.

If you want this kind of information, I would advise you to consider your driving style. If you are a daily driver, with an average of 40 miles a day, then you need very different material then someone who drives 400 miles a day on the highway or someone who goes off road or someone who drag races or...
So basically... why do you want to upgrade your air line? In short...that which is better for one driver or car, isnt necessarily better for someone else.

for all round purposes the K&N air filter is very good. there is little better on the market then that. Same goes for the Magnaflow.

If you are going for performance, then you have to learn about the bottle neck theory on cars.
When you empty a bottle, there is a part, the bottle neck, that at one point causes the water to flow less rapidly. If you cut away that bottle neck , then all the water flows out faster.
In a car, there is always a "bottle neck". Its a car part that keeps your car from delivering optimal driving conditions. If you randomly alter car parts (exhaust, intake, fuellines, spark plugs, ...) then you will probably find small increases in performance.
But if you can pinpoint the bottle neck, then you will find an immense increase in performance.
so dont believe the adds that tell you "with this part you will have 10 percent more power and / or you will need 10 per cent less fuel"... Because this is never correct.

A span of horses is only as fast as the slowest horse. BEcause the other horses have to run to its rithm or fall over it. Its the same with your car. Your car is basically a collection of horses . Your sparks are horses, your engine is a horse, your exhaust pipe is a horse, ... So dont replace the "good horses" just yet. Find the weakest horse and replace that one first. Once you have done that, start looking for the next weak horse. And that is the only way of getting the most performance for your money. Its called the bottle neck theory.

Bro you need to know about the Learn down computer. ANY mod you do will be cancled out by the computer by lowering boost. This feature is built into the system. the FRIST and BEST thing you can do is get a computer tune. Superchips Coretex is a good option. Trifecta is a bit more radical. Hahn Racecraft has one but is REALLY expensive and not any better than the other two i mentioned.
