Default Looking to buy 2000-05 Monte Carlo SS. Questions?

Hello forum members, im looking to purchase a 2000-05 model SS and was wondering if you guys could tell me what year I should go with and any potential problems I should look out for. I think I read somewhere that in 2004 the SS got a boost in HP but im not sure if thats true. I really cant wait til I find the SS im looking for! I want a low mileage black on black SS with leather interior, but will also settle for white, or bright yellow as long as its an SS. Im looking forward to chatting with you guys!! Thanks in advance! Im not sure of the year but some of the ss where supercharged...might have been 04 but the 3.8 has many mods that can be either a n/a setup or supercharged...even top swap to make it s/c i'd say

The 2004 & 2005 models got the optional supercharger.

The regular SS is rated at 200HP. The supercharged SS is rated at 240HP. It uses the same L67 engine and tranny combo as the Grand Prix and other supercharged 3.8 litre GM cars.

The 3.8 litre engine has proven to be a pretty reliable engine. A known issue with the 2000 to 2005 Monte Carlos is the instrument panel guage cluster. The guages are known to go bad. I had my temperature guage go on me. Replaced under warranty.
