1990 Silverado slower to fire
Some History, Last winter, Jan 2013, after a 3 hour drive, truck was idling and just quit. Very unusual. Was minus 24 degrees and thought fuel problem. Was not fuel problem. Anyway became very difficult to start. Well after some research replaced ignition control module. Fixed problem. But now, probably right away but was happy it was fixed I ignored slower to fire issue. Now most trucks of this era fire in half a crank, mine has gone to 3,4,5 6 cranks before fires. My question, yes I used an aftermarket control module, I am not 100% sure the longer fire time came right away but probably did. Should I try a factory part, cost was sig higher which is why I went aftermarket. Or am I maybe missing something else. Thanks.

Ps posted history thinking it might help someone with similar problem. I read a lot of owners carry extra ignition control module!
