Tried to shorten performance for the title lol, think I failed. Anywho, I have a 1998 Chevy K1500 Silverado with the 5.0 engine. What I'm having issues with is the performance of it. Its been lugging when I go to tromp on the accelerator. I don't tromp on it often, just when i'm feeling really good only to be let down by this. I'll go to say pull away from a stop sign, press down on it, and I get no response out of it. It just lugs and you can hear it in the motor. Then after awhile though it'll finally kick in and go.

I've also been noticing a whining noise coming from it? This is only when I'm on the accelerator though, as soon as i take my foot off, the whine goes away. What the heck could that be?

Things I'm going to do is replace the fuel filter to start off with. Check my air intake filter. My intake is cracked where the filter sits. That shouldn't matter should it? Like it's sucking in too much air?
