What would be considered the more capable off road vehicle, the Z71 or a 4X4?

Z71 was a 1/2 ton with all the accessory options, on the chassis side it had heavy duty billstien shocks, aluminum skid plates, 40mm anti sway bar, heavy duty torsion bars, reinforced K series chassis, delco rear leef springs, polyurethane suspension bushings, HD timkin bearings with dust shields and equipped with oil cooler..the z71 option was also on some 2wd

and cool sticker ......

the real limiting factor to a vehicle's off-road performance is the driver, find the right guy and he can get a metro to run circles around a z71 on any surface
