2005 equinox wire harness

2005 equinox wire harness
Hi my issue is ...my factory radio died so I went and brought a scoshe wire harness that fits 2004+ gm vehicles..the NOx was one of them.
I installed the harness and I got no power. I had some one else look at it and he doubled my 2yellows and my 2reds that made it come on...but it wouldn't shut off when my car was off. So I brought a nother harness a Walmart brand that was also for the 2005 equinox.. And nothing is working. I was told I had to buy a harness from metra that would cost me $160.00 well I don't have that kind of money...does anyone have any idea why its not working?
