Default ABS Sensor Test

I have the ABS and the Traction Control/Stabilitrak light on as well as the DIC message about them. I read somewhere on the web a couple of days ago (and now i cant find it) a test that could be performed on the ABS sensor with a multimeter.

Does anyone know how this test is done and what to look for. I'd like to make sure before i spend money on a part i may not need. From what I have found on the web about this problem it could be caused by just about anything and can also be a nightmare, of time and money, to fix.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
