Default Fan Clutch Suggestions

Hello - I'm looking to replace the fan clutch for my 2002Silverado. After looking at some of the options on advance auto parts, I'mconsidering either the "Imperial Fan Clutch - Severe Duty - GM Trucks" orthe "A/C Delco" brand. A/C Delco ends up costing close to $100 more.Anyone have any experience with the imperial brand and can let me know if thisis a good choice. Feel free to recommend other options for a fan clutch if youlike.<o></o>

OEM or electric. Unless I am wrong the fan robs a bit of HP. There are kits you can install and eliminate the fan using electric fan(s).

Converting my truck to electric fans is on my to do list.

Default Fan Clutch

Have a 2001 Silverado 1500 4x4 5.3l. Went thru numerous clutch fans and finally moved up to an electric setup. Upgraded to a 34" radiator from Radiator Express as they mount right up to the top rail but different holes. Purchased a wiring kit from Just Chevys for around $150 and a dual fan assembly for a 2005 silverado for around $175 on E-Bay, mounts using old 28" holes. Found a local tuner to tune ECM so fans come on like a 2005 stock truck. Love the setup as it makes the front of engine clean looking along with easier to work on. Gained a little in HP and mileage and don't have to hear the loud clutch fan come on. Overall spent around $550 and worth every penny.
