I asked Chevy if they would donate a new one to us and they said we would have to contact local dealers. If our truck dies many dogs stuck in kill shelters will die along with it. I have a 1996 sport side with 382,000 miles on it and still running stronge. Were ever i go im always told what a good looking truck i have, when i telll them the mileage they want to see the odomiter. the only problem i have with it is the tranny, it goes out at every 150,000 like clock work

I have a new to me 1990 Silverado 4x4 Short bed regular cab with 215,000 on the truck. I was told the drive-train was replaced 40,000 miles ago. That might not make it count, but the rest of the truck is solid

First vehicle I ever owned was a 94 GMC Sierra got it with 180,000 miles and sold it with 280,000 and it still ran like a champ! It's amazing how far regular maintenance will go! But in sad to say this, my 2000 silverado that I owned up until a month ago only had 130,000 miles and the motor just one day up and have out. No war ing or nothing, truck started shaking horribly and I smelt gas and boom that was it. I ended up selling the body for the down payment on my 09 silverado extended cab, I couldn't be happier that it gave out because now I have a truck I can depend on for a long long time ( and it helps that the truck still has 3 years of warrantee)
