My 2002 has 455 thousand +. You still got a few years worth of driving. Use's maybe a 1/2 quart of oil between changes.

Default GM definetly needs a high mileage club

My 84 year old grandad has purchased at least 6 or 7 GMC or Chevrolet trucks that I can think of and a couple cars and or vans/suvs as well. As far as his high mileage his first GMC 1500 that I remember him having he gave to my uncle when I was young after it had got over 250,000 miles on it in about 3-4years. His second one that he purchased after giving the other one away he gave to another uncle or family member after it too got around 250 to 300,000 miles on it after a few years. Now he has a 1996 GMC silverado that he bought new and still has. It has the original motor and no interior work has been done to it. It now has over 640,000 miles on it and he drives it nearly every day even though he just bought a 2013 chevrolet silverado a year ago. He says the old one drives better, go figure. The seat may be worn down alot, he has had the transmission worked on a few times, broke several side door mirrors, and been through several sets of door pins and bushings. He always gets the oil changed around 5000 miles and he swears by quakerstate motor oil. Go Chevy

1998 Silverado C1500 225,000 plus on engine. Have replaced transmission and rebuilt rear end twice though. Had rust bad on rear cab corners but took care of that. Now have a bit of rust begining to show over rear wheel wells need to take care of that soon. Been thinking about repainting since the clear coat is begining to flake in spots.

I'm coming up on 50k and no smoke yet

I had a friend that had a high mileage vehicle with the original engine in it and it had only been rebuilt twice - but it was still the original engine

Default How to Sell a High Mileage Truck That Runs and Looks Great--Need Advice Please

I have a beautiful 2005 Chevy Silverado Duramax Diesel truck that I need to sell. It looks and drives like new, but it has 311,000 miles on it. There is absolutely no sign of aging whatsoever. Its crazy. The problem is that no one seems to believe me or understand that diesel truck are not the same as gas trucks. Diesel trucks can run for hundreds of thousands of miles. I am moving overseas in two weeks and I need to sell this truck! Help!

The KBB value is $14,500 and I have tried to sell it at $9995 on Ebay and Craigslist with no luck. Also placed sign in window.

Is price too high? Does anyone have tips or advice? Thanks!
