Default Horn Not Working

First post here, didn't see any answers re: this topic after search.

My horn on my 2003 chevy silverado isn't working however it does work when I arm my alarm. With that said I'd imagine it has to do with the local steering wheel horn mechanism being faulty/broken.

Any recommendations on how to approach the problem, I've always been told to stay away from the steering wheel/horn components in fear of discharging/ damaging the air bag. Thanks.

Is this right? You have to pull the relay to keep the horn from going off? If so, that'd be my guess is the switch. I ccan't help you with newer model steering columns.

No, the horn isn't constantly going off. It doesn't work when I hit it. It does work when i arm my alarm. I'm looking for tips on how to fix the horn while not compromising the air bag
