Spyder Install
I am installing an updated injector spyder on my 96 1500. Can I use a bronze bore cleaning brush to clean the pockets ? And is there anything I should watch for during the install or is this a fairly stright forward take it apart,clean everything up and reinstall with the new parts? This is my only transportation so I gotta get it right the first time...

The new spyder arrived today. It came with directions and diagrams. The hoses seem overly stiff.Can I heat them gently with a hair dryer or heat gun to make them more flexable? I also have a Hayes manual to refer to as well. I also bought the gasket kit...

MDTAHOE,thanks for the reply. Can I use a bronze bore brush to clean the pockets that the updated injectors go in or would a nylon brush be better.

Just an update...Installed the updated spyder system today.Had a bit of trouble getting the intake to seat but after that it was a peice of cake. Very happy to report that the truck has never run better. I guess it's normal for the ECM to have to relearn after being disconnected from power? But no more codes and it now runs on all 8 cyls.
Level of difficulty on a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being highest was a 5 IMHO. I think the worst part of the whole repair was dealing with all the controls and plugins that have to be disconnected.
Anyway thanks to MDTAHOE and others on this forum for your help.

Spyder install update!
Well the new spyder has been in the truck for about 2 weeks now. I have only been local until this weekend. Took a 400 mile round trip yesterday. This truck has 265K on it and is all original. Mileage has never been over 15 mpg on the highway. Checked thr mileage yesterday and can't believe it...19.5 MPG ! Plenty of power and runs so quiet and smooth. Well worth the dollars and labor. Now I'm really challenged to see how far this old chevy will go.
