i have a 89 chevy 4x4 the trans 700r4 was burned up when bought i rebuilt it with all new clutchs and seals etc. their was nothing but clutch material in pan and burnt trans fluid. after the rebuild i done a road test it shift from 1-2 great and when goes to go to 2-d its like neutral and same as in od but if you stop on it it downshifts to 2 and engages and goes but then back to d and nothing there is no noise or vibration, other than no drive or overdrive its does fine and strong. i replaced the TTC soleniod cause the other one got broke i have even pulled the servo and valve body back off and checked all the valve and gasket and still does the same ive drove it now fow 1800 miles and the fluid is still clean, im lost what im i over looking,any and all help greatly appreciated,thank you.

All it takes is a check ball in the wrong place or missing. Got to be something in the valve body not quite right.

i have took the valve body off twice and double checked the check ***** andgasket the first time the two gaskets were backwards but after changing them still no difference.and checked all valve in the body for free movement also.
