Default Wont shift out of first

1993 Z71 4WDR Auto

Rev and first is all I have. Speed meter also not working.

I tried changing the speed pickup sensor on the trans, no change

Any ideas what to check next?

I am NOT a "truck person", had a similar problem with 1986. I was told the "detent valve" was sticking. I dropped the transmission pan replaced the valve and the problem was gone. I sold the truck about a year later, it was still shifting

Well if you already replaced the tailshaft speed sensor then my guess would have to be a short in the wires somewhere. A wiring diagram would tell you where the wires run to.

did you replace the speed sensor in the transfer case ? ( not in the transs ) if not do it
