Default Getting a new tahoe, got a few questions.

Hey all im planning on getting a 2010 black tahoe LT with luxury package, and sun/destination package and the z71 off road package. Will the off road package give me less of a luxurious ride on the street? Also is there any problems or any good mods anyone would like to share? thanks

not to be rude but if you look closely Z71 "OFF ROAD" package = not as smooth as "regular". this is a well known GM package for many years and nearly everyone knows this...that being said I really doubt you will think it is too rough for normal everyday driving.
Some people like it better since it is more of a "truck like" ride

I've got an 07 Tahoe Z71 2WD and a 2010 Sierra Crew Cab Z71 4WD and the Tahoe seems a bit stiffer for some reason. Might be the shorter wheel base but all in all both ride great.

I have the Z71 package. It is stiffer - period. If you go LTZ you will get the Autoride automatic air shock suspension. Smooth as silk. Gets yer choice.

I have no idea what a "luxury package" package is. LT's have three trim levels, LT1, 2, and 3, and each obviously adds a little more to the truck. An LTZ is "maxed out" with the exception of the Sun/entertainment/desination package and little things like side blind zone alert and/or power running boards. 2010's no longer have the option of the 6.2. If I had a Z71, I'd keep the factory 18's or some other lightweight 18" or even 17" wheels to maintain a better ride and sidewall flex off road. It's a fact that as wheel size increases, performance decreases. Most LT3 trucks will already have 20" factory wheels. If not, and you're looking for the best ride, stay with 18" wheels max. Bigger wheels are only bling. They add weight, cost, a stiffer ride, and degrade both power and braking.

guys I am pretty sure he is just a kid messing around on forums - not really a person in the market for a vehicle...

Just think of how many 20" wheels he can get for the $55K the 2010 LT would cost.
