Default Fiberglass 07 Subwoofer Enclosure

Here are a couple of preliminary pics of the subwoofer enclosure being designed for the Tahoe/Suburban/Avalanche/Silverado by a friend of mine. This project has been a long time coming but will definately be worth the wait once it is finished:

As you can see, instead of just building an enclosure that mounts under the front of the center console, this enclosure will take the place of your entire inner structure of your console. The outer shell of the console will simply bolt to this inner enclosure allowing for considerably more air space and the ability to port the enclosure for a down firing 10" sub (built for the JL 10W3V3). There will be no cutting or measuring involved and the factory amp will stay in place. You will lose a slight amount of storage space in the console but as you can see from the pictures, it is still pretty big. The only thing you will have to do is remove the rear AC ducts in the vehicles with rear AC vents.
The 2 halves just need to be fiberglassed together and the enclosure needs to be tuned. I will post more pics as I get them. Anyone interested in a better sounding, higher output enclosure like this that is hidden?

Hi. Is he planning on making anything available for behind the third row seating? That would be great...

No, I dont think so. The enclosure's he builds are ones that your average installer cant or will refuse to build due to time and cost. There's not a single installer I have ever met that would build this enclosure for less than $800 (and that is being VERY modest). Start to finish, this enclosure would take a skilled installer easily 2 days to build and tune.
Enclosures that will go behind the rear seat can be built within ahour or 2and tailored to the customer's taste (ie, ported, sealed, carpet, vinyl, 10", 8", etc).

Nice set up, I am definitely interested pending price tag.
I know you said something about the rear A/C vents have to be removed, is that for install or permenantly? Would it look completely stock after install?

jazejeff, where did you quoted for the JL stealth box?

Thank you, Jay
