Default 00 Tahoe shifting problems

Hello. I'm having issues with my 2000 Tahoe and was hoping to get some help. I just traded my old car for this Tahoe and it's got some issues. Plugged in the obd reader and it's saying knock sensor issues. But the major problem I'm having with it is it's not shifting right. When I first start going, it'll get to 20mph, the rpms will be around 2500 and the engine is roaring. But to get it to shift I have to let off the accelerator, let it drop back to around 2000 rps then it will shift. It does the same for 3rd and 4th gear. When I got it the guy said the tranny had just been rebuilt and needed time to settle in (pretty sure that was a bs line but idk) My question is, would bad knock sensors cause shifting issues or is it something else? Taking it to a shop tomorrow. Just trying to get an idea of what I'm going to hear.
