Default Leveling Kits and lift kits

Hello folks, I recently purchased a 2004 Suburban LT 4*4 1500with 26K miles. I have seen these "leveling kits" on the web that have the torsion bar keys and the coil spring spacers. I would liketo get a small amout of lift but do not want to mess up the great ride or handling. Has anyone tried one of the kits and if so how well has it worked?
I may eventually go with a full on lift kit of 4" or 6" and was not sure what manufacturer was best for GM vehicles. I am new to Chevrolet (sorry, Ford guy for 20 years but I am trying to redeem myself)I have always like the Fabtech stuff for Fords but have noticed alot of Chevy folks use the "Full Traction" kits. Any opinions?

Thanks in advance
