2008 Uplander: adding power door open and/or remote start?
2008 Chevrolet Uplander, van is an LT I believe, has both right and left power sliding doors, all power options, dvd, etc. The key fob only has lock/unlock/panic, but we have a Pontiac Montana that is a year or two *older* with a power sliding door on the passenger side, and on it's key fob is a remote open button for the power sliding door.
So, can we buy a key fob with the remote sliding door buttons could the dealer reprogram the fob and the bcm? Would the same work for the remote start??

You should be able to get one...I seem to remember when we were looking at them that one we looked at had a key fob that opened the doors as well...the dealer can program it to work with your Uplander.
If you buy it through the dealer they might even give you a break on the programming.
