You don’t need flashy wheels and gallons of body filler to make a 1964 Chevy truck an attractive cruiser.

Let’s face it – we live in a world of attention seekers. With the rise of social media, everyone is trying to stand out among the masses. Which means that more than ever, we’re seeing some seriously crazy custom trucks. All built with one purpose in mind – to attract as much attention (and shares) as possible. But when you’re dealing with vintage Chevrolet steel, none of that is necessary. Because classics like this 1964 Chevy truck, which we spotted over at The Collector Car Network, prove that stock never goes out of style.

No, back in these days, Chevy could do no wrong. From the ’40s all the way through the ’70s, they just kept pumping out some of the best looking pickups ever built. And it’s hard to argue with the timeless lines of this 1964 Chevy truck. Especially when it sports a Stepside bed, which you certainly don’t see very often these days.

The combination of that curvy short bed, combined with a regular cab, is an unbeatable styling combination. Especially when it’s covered in can’t-miss red and white two-tone paint. Throw on a set of color-matched steel wheels and white wall tires, and you’ve got one attractive hauler. Heck, you don’t even need chrome to make it work.

Pretty much everything on this classic Chevy truck has been replaced or rebuilt, just short of a total frame-off. And yet, the builder resisted the urge to change its original character. We’re grateful for his restraint, of course. Because amid a sea of trucks built for no other reason than to grab as much attention as possible, this one will still look every bit as good 40 years from now as it does today.
