2019 GMC Sierra

The all-new 2019 GMC Sierra will make its world debut March 1 via Facebook. But you don’t have to wait until then to see it!

Where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. And sure enough, rumors that the 2019 GMC Sierra would debut March 1 in Detroit have officially been confirmed by none other than GMC themselves. To get us excited for the arrival of the all-new pickup, they even graced us with this teaser image via Instagram. And though it doesn’t give us much to go by, it does confirm several things.

The reverse C-shaped LED daytime running lights pierce through the shadowy image as the most obvious carryover from the previous model. Albeit, certainly restyled. The headlights they surround are most likely full LED units themselves. The updated lighting frames a large grille, containing an equally large GMC logo. It’s big and boxy, just like the new Silverado. But it’s also quite obvious that the GM intends to further differentiate the dynamic duo in more ways than one.

2019 Chevy Silverado

Even though it’s hard to make out all the details in the teaser image, the 2019 GMC Sierra clearly takes a different styling path than its Chevy brother. Still, the two will continue to share underpinnings and powertrain options. Rumors persist that the Sierra will continue to move more upscale, which makes sense considering the popularity of higher level trim. It would also help further GM’s mission of differentiating the two.

We’ll know a lot more on March 1 when GM reveals the 2019 GMC Sierra via a live Facebook event. After that, expect to see the all-new pickup on display at the New York Auto Show starting March 30. Both the new Sierra and Silverado are expected to officially go on sale later this year.
