Bring Home This Rare 1955 Chevy Cameo Carrier
When it comes to the world of vintage pickup trucks, the Chevrolet Cameo Carrier is most certainly one of the most desired and hard-to-find trucks. And this Chicago beauty is a great example of charming, and also how expensive they can get.
Our friends at Bring a Trailer discovered this Craigslist listing, and it’s certainly worth checking out. According to the owner, this 1955 Chevy Cameo Carrier is a two-owner truck and it was brought form sunny California to the midwest about 5 years ago.
The Cameo Carrier stands out as a wannabe car-like truck, as it offered luxuries like power-steering, nicely appointed interiors, and flush bed panels that culminate on miniature tail fins. Unlike most trucks of that era that were mainly for heavy duty work, and featured step-side bed body panels, the Cameo Carrier focused on offering the comfort of a car, but with the convenience of a truck.
According to the owner, the interior is entirely OEM with the exception of the gauge cluster, and in the engine bay there’s a 350 motor with Edelbrock rock covers.
